All NHS referrals are made by your GP or via direct referral from Poole or Dorset County Hospitals. Most patients in Dorset are referred to the Dorset MSK spinal service and if appropriate, are referred to the Dorset Spinal Service which is based at New Hall Hospital.
Since the onset of the Pandemic, Mr Hilton and his team now see NHS patients in clinics at:
New Hall Hospital
and
Blandford Hospital
All NHS surgeries, including injections, take place at New Hall Hospital in Salisbury.
The British Spine Registry (BSR) was set up by the British Association of Spinal Surgeons to monitor all spinal procedures and collect data with the aim to improve patient safety and monitor the results of spinal surgery. This will allow better understanding of procedures and techniques in the future and therefore improve patient’s experience and quality of life.
Mr Hilton works closely with the British Association of Spinal Surgeons (BASS) and adheres to the guidelines of NHS England and National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE). He fully supports the British Spinal Registry and therefore, if you are treated by Mr Hilton, he will discuss the British Spinal Registry with you at the consultation.
